I don't like thinking about its purpose if it has one. [She doubts nine out of ten things happen here for any reason except the Admiral's sense of humor.]

Can't imagine why. It's one thing when you only remember being different the past couple days, but you get someone else's life in there...?

Was it really someone else's?

[surrenders]

If I never lived it, I think of it like that. I don't know if that other person was ever real.

Hmm, but we were them. [ She's lived enough other lives that she can accept this a little easier than not ] We were living it.

Yeah, but it's like putting on an act. Playing a part in some film we don't know we're in. We got put in a television show one time. I tried thinking about it like that.

Isn't it all an act? All of this? [ She's been playing her acts far too long ] What's real, really?

[She looks up, eyes to the ceiling like she's thinking hard, since the "is this all real" conversations usually get a little over her head.]

I think there's different kinds of real. What you did and saw's real in your head, but once it stops being important to us, it didn't happen. It's real for us, but doesn't exist outside here.

Now that... [ Oh, that was smart ] that makes a lot of sense. [ Will Sophie believe, or even take that in more than what she already thinks? Maybe not. But about it being important? That is true ]

Don't want to think it's anything else. If how we act changes them and they can't know that.
